    The Product Engineer is responsible for the design and development of engineering solutions for avionics systems for various aircraft types. Job duties include brainstorming product ideas and material needs with the production and engineering teams, designing blueprints using CAD programs and overseeing the manufacturing process for products. Work closely with customers, production, as well as other design team engineers, FAA Designated Engineering Representatives (DER), FAA Designated Airworthiness Representatives (DAR), and flight crews to ensure a viable and safe design. Primary Responsibilities: Develop product ideas based on customer audience interests. Identify customer problems and create functional prototypes offering a solution. Coordinate prototype submissions with relevant personnel for approval. Coordinate product transition from initial design to manufacturing. Perform market analysis on competing products and brands. Analyze market and industry trends and conditions. Analyze feasibility, cost, and return on investment for product ideas. Manage the budget requirements for projects. Research and identify potential solutions to meet design objectives. Generate engineering documentation in accordance with company procedures and policies to meet project requirements and objectives. Operate as a liaison between internal stakeholders including manufacturing, quality, sourcing, and other engineering teams to solve issues. Solve real-world challenges. Documents work by maintaining files for each job. Maintains awareness of anticipated irregularities that might contribute to or create a delay and notifies management and customers of all delay risks. Keeps Program Manager assigned current with status reports of all projects in work. Maintains a professional relationship with colleagues and informs the appropriate managers of possible issues at the earliest opportunity which might be detrimental to team spirit or the motivation of staff. Adheres to all company policies and procedures. Prepares a variety of written correspondence and periodic and special reports regarding work performed. Perform other related duties as may be assigned. Preferred Qualifications: 3-5 years of experience in aerospace product design. Bachelor s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. High levels of computer literacy and ability and be proficient with different computer programs including Autodesk, SolidWorks, and MS Office. Knowledge of FAA regulations preferred. Required: Knowledge of aircraft of avionics and communication systems. Experience in change and configuration management. Detail-oriented approach with a high level of accuracy in documentation and compliance Must be a team player with the innate ability to help the Engineering team achieve success and exceed customer expectations. Memory for detail, capacity for supporting team members to remain on path. Ability to fluently read, write, speak and understand the English language. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and engineering documentation. Ability to support remote modifications with travel and on-site technical expertise on an occasional basis both domestically and internationally as may be required. Ability to communicate in a professional, motivating and tactful manner. Must submit to and pass pre-employment drug testing.
