The University of Maine System Information Technology (UMS:IT) is seeking an experienced ERP Development Team Lead - Human Resources to guide, manage, and mentor a team of ERP developers dedicated to enhancing the Human Resources technology environment across our statewide campuses. This position has the option of being remote or located at one of the University locations throughout the state. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional evenings and weekends if necessary.
As the ERP Development Team Lead - HR, you will play a pivotal role in the success of mission-critical HR systems that support all UMS campuses. This leadership position is responsible for overseeing the development and delivery of reliable, scalable, and high-quality ERP solutions that support the operational and strategic goals of the University.
Working in close collaboration with functional stakeholders, technical colleagues, and UMS:IT governance groups, you will lead your team through every phase of the development lifecycle, from planning and design to implementation and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities Include:
+ Direct the work of ERP developers to ensure timely and effective progress across assigned projects and support efforts.
+ Lead the adoption and continuous improvement of tools, practices, and development standards to ensure high-quality results.
+ Ensure ERP HR development aligns with project and service management processes governed by UMS:IT.
+ Collaborate on business case development, scoping, and prioritization of HR ERP projects and enhancements.
+ Monitor escalated issues and manage team workload to ensure responsive and prioritized resolution.
+ Provide consistent communication and updates to IT leadership and functional partners; represent the team in governance groups and cross-functional collaborations.
+ Supervise and support staff development through hiring, training, coaching, performance evaluations, and career planning.
+ Recommend and support the acquisition of new tools, platforms, and resources to improve HR technology outcomes.
Required Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills
+ Bachelor's degree in a technical field or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Five or more years of progressive experience in software design and development for complex, multi-user software systems.
+ Demonstrated experience managing ERP developers.
+ Solid foundation in Computer Science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and ERP software design.
+ Knowledge of software development principles, practices, and methodologies within the ERP realm.
+ Knowledge of the principles and methods of the Software Development Life Cycle.
+ Knowledge of the principles used in the design and development of information systems, including layered and distributed architecture models.
+ Knowledge of major software security concerns.
+ Ability to organize work, assign and direct staff, set goals and priorities, evaluate staff performance, and inspire others toward producing results.
+ Ability to coordinate with others to monitor progress, accomplish goals, and evaluate outcomes.
+ Ability to identify problems and determine short and long-term resolutions.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience in software development in a higher education or comparable environment.
+ Experience in software development and support in a PeopleSoft environment.
+ Experience in support, configuration, and security of Oracle Cloud HCM.
+ Experience in developing integration software.

Salary and Benefits
The hiring range for this full-time, regular position is $76,000 to $86,000, commensurate with experience. For current UMS employees, the salary will also take into consideration existing pay for transfer or promotion.
