At Amazon Web Services (AWS), we provide world-class, flexible, scalable, and secure cloud services to the world’s fastest-growing startups, the largest enterprises, and leading government agencies. We do this by building, maintaining, and securing one of the largest, most complex networks in the world. Within AWS, the Infrastructure Security (InfraSec) team is responsible for threat intelligence, vulnerability management, security information and event management (SIEM), incident response, and overall network security across the entire AWS global network.

The AWS InfraSec Threat Detection team is seeking a Software Development Engineer (SDE) to build and maintain the software that comprises our ever-expanding threat detection suite - which is comprised of homegrown SIEM and SOAR platforms. Finally, you will partner and support Threat Intelligence and Threat Response engineers to improve the Threat Operations ecosystem and protect our internal and external customers.

Basic Qualifications

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

- 3+ years of building complex software systems experience

- 3+ years of experience working with SIEM, SOAR platforms, networking, and/or security incident response

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
