Now Hiring: Security Officer – Smithfield Foods Facility (Omaha, NE)

Allied Universal is hiring **Full-Time Security Officers** for the **Smithfield Foods plant** located at **2223 Industrial Rd, Omaha, NE** . This role is vital in ensuring the safety and security of one of the region’s key production facilities.

Position Details:

+ **Pay Rate:** $18.50 per hour

+ **Employment Type:** Full-Time

+ **Shifts Available:** Morning, Afternoon, and Evening

Primary Responsibilities:

+ Control gate access – open gates for authorized personnel, truckers, and visitors

+ Verify credentials or rosters before granting site access

+ Issue visitor passes as instructed by client or supervisors

+ Direct site traffic according to client protocols

+ Inspect all outbound traffic for unauthorized removal of property or product

+ Log and track all incoming and outgoing trucks accurately in client systems

+ Perform routine patrols of the premises, including parking lots and facility doors

+ Conduct permit checks for employees removing tools, materials, or products

+ Provide telephone/radio support and route calls as needed

+ Maintain cleanliness of gate areas (wipe workstations, sweep as needed)

Qualifications:

+ Excellent communication and observation skills

+ Comfortable using computer systems for data entry

+ Able to work on foot for extended periods and perform light maintenance tasks

+ Reliable, professional, and detail-oriented

Responsibilities:

+ Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out safety and security procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities

+ Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem solving manner

+ Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.

Minimum Requirements:

+ Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles

+ Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience

+ As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.

+ As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
