Description We are looking for a meticulous and organized Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Tampa, Florida. In this role, you will play a key part in managing the full cycle of accounting operations, including journal entries, reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, and financial reporting. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the success of a non-profit organization while utilizing your financial expertise.

Responsibilities:

• Record daily sales transactions for various operations, including food and beverage, retail, ticketing, and educational events.

• Ensure proper accounting for in-kind donations and intercompany credits.

• Oversee inventory accounting for the Food & Beverage and Retail departments, ensuring accurate valuation and reconciliation.

• Prepare and remit sales tax filings in compliance with state regulations.

• Manage purchasing card receipts, ensuring accuracy, proper coding, and timely submission.

• Perform general ledger reconciliations and maintain accurate balance sheet accounts.

• Handle accounts receivable processes, including invoice preparation and collections.

• Support month-end and year-end close activities to ensure timely financial reporting.

• Reconcile bank and credit card statements to ensure accuracy in financial records.

• Assist in audit preparations by gathering and organizing required documentation. Requirements • Proficiency in managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.

• Experience with financial software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, SAP, or Financial Edge.

• Strong understanding of bank reconciliation and journal entry processes.

• Demonstrated expertise in month-end and year-end close procedures.

• Knowledge of sales tax preparation and compliance.

• Ability to analyze and reconcile complex financial transactions.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple priorities.

• Previous experience in a non-profit setting is a plus but not required.
