Description
We are assisting our client, a respected property management organization focused on affordable housing, in identifying a skilled Affordable Housing Specialist. This is a temporary-to-hire opportunity offering the potential to join their team permanently after a successful evaluation period.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Section 8, LIHTC (Tax Credit), and HUD housing programs, and be proficient in handling certifications, recertifications, and applicant intake processes in a busy affordable housing setting.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Conduct initial resident intake interviews and process new applications for affordable housing.
+ Complete annual and interim certifications/recertifications accurately and in a timely manner.
+ Maintain compliance with HUD, LIHTC, and Section 8 housing regulations.
+ Review documentation to determine eligibility in accordance with program guidelines.
+ Ensure all resident files are complete, compliant, and audit-ready.
+ Enter and update data in property management software systems (e.g., Yardi, RealPage).
+ Respond to resident inquiries and provide information regarding housing eligibility, rent changes, and program requirements.
+ Liaise with local housing authorities and compliance departments as needed.
Requirements
+ Minimum 1 years of experience in affordable housing compliance or property management.
+ Strong working knowledge of HUD, Section 8, and Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) programs.
+ Proficient in e-certification processes and compliance documentation.
+ Excellent organizational and communication skills.
+ Ability to manage sensitive information and uphold confidentiality.
+ Experience with housing software such as Yardi, RealPage, or equivalent platforms is highly preferred.
