    Description

We’re seeking a Tour Guide to support operations at the John Deere Tractor & Engine Museum in Waterloo, IA. This is a part-time, onsite opportunity offering 16–20 hours per week.

    Key Details:

    - Location: Fully onsite in Waterloo, IA

     

    - Length: Currently approved for 3 years, possibility of extension

     

    - Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday (16-20hrs/week)

     

    - Visa sponsorship not available now or in the future

    Responsibilities:

    - Greet and assist all museum guests, tour groups, and community visitors

     

    - Manage front desk operations including answering phones, taking tour reservations, and providing museum overviews

     

    - Open and close the facility, ensuring readiness for daily operations

     

    - Provide high-level customer service and act as an ambassador for local attractions

     

    - Support special events including setup and tear down

     

    - Perform light administrative tasks and receive ongoing training

     

    - Travel occasionally to nearby Waterloo sites for meetings or store support

    Requirements

    What We’re Looking For:

    - Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written

     

    - Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task

     

    - Comfortable with basic computer tasks

     

    - Prior customer service experience required; museum experience is a plus
