Description

We are looking for a dedicated Staff Auditor to join a team in Wilmington, Delaware. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of internal controls and ensuring compliance with financial and regulatory standards. This is a short-term contract position offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to organizational success while developing your auditing expertise.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough examinations of organizational and functional activities within designated time frames.

• Develop and document detailed audit plans, workpapers, findings, and reports that clearly reflect audit outcomes.

• Present audit findings to management through both written reports and oral presentations.

• Provide support during annual audits conducted by independent public accounting firms.

• Perform Sarbanes-Oxley 404 testing to ensure the maintenance of internal controls.

• Stay updated on company policies, accounting practices, auditing standards, and regulatory developments.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address compliance gaps and improve operational efficiency.

• Assist in identifying risks and recommending solutions to strengthen financial and operational controls.

Requirements • At least 1 year of experience in auditing or a related field.

• Proficiency with accounting software systems such as CaseWare, CCH ProSystem Fx, and CCH Sales Tax.

• Strong knowledge of accounting functions, including accounts payable and financial reporting.

• Familiarity with audit programs and processes, including planning and execution.

• Ability to analyze audit findings and provide actionable recommendations.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting and presenting findings.

• Detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.

• Understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and internal control frameworks.
