Description

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Cost Accountant to join our team. This is a Contract-to-permanent position offering the opportunity to contribute to the financial operations of a growing organization. The role requires expertise in cost accounting and a proactive approach to managing month-end processes, financial reporting, and system improvements.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and enhance cost accounting processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

• Perform month-end close activities, including accruals and reconciliations.

• Analyze production costs and finished goods inventory to provide actionable insights.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial reporting and budgeting.

• Assist in transitioning acquired businesses to the company's accounting systems.

• Conduct cost analysis to improve operational and financial performance.

• Train and mentor accounting staff on cost accounting practices and systems.

• Manage accounting software systems and ensure their effective utilization.

• Support the integration of new business acquisitions into financial operations.

• Prepare detailed reports for management, offering insights into cost trends and opportunities.

Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Proven experience in cost accounting, including month-end close processes.

• Proficiency in accounting software such as ADP, BlackLine, or Costpoint.

• Strong knowledge of budgeting, cost analysis, and financial reporting.

• Familiarity with DCAA and auditing processes is preferred.

• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to train and guide team members in accounting practices.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills for cross-departmental coordination.
