Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team in Lompoc, California. This is a contract position that offers an opportunity to contribute to essential accounting functions while collaborating closely with other team members. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in bookkeeping, a proactive attitude, and a willingness to learn and adapt quickly.

Responsibilities:

• Manage accounts payable tasks, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and maintaining accurate records.

• Handle accounts receivable functions such as posting payments, reconciling accounts, and generating relevant reports.

• Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data and resolve discrepancies.

• Maintain and update financial records using QuickBooks, ensuring all transactions are properly documented.

• Assist with month-end close procedures, including account reconciliations and preparing necessary reports.

• Support family entity accounting by processing invoices, payments, and postings in QuickBooks.

• Collaborate with team members to share responsibilities and ensure smooth workflow.

• Provide interim accounting support as needed, adapting to evolving priorities and deadlines.

• Utilize Microsoft Excel to organize, analyze, and present financial data.

• Participate in interviews and onboarding processes for potential long-term hires. Requirements • Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles, with a strong understanding of accounting principles.

• Proficiency in QuickBooks for managing financial transactions and records.

• Familiarity with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.

• Ability to perform accurate bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies efficiently.

• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel for data organization and analysis.

• Eagerness to learn, adapt, and take initiative in problem-solving.

• Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues.

• Availability to work on-site, Monday through Friday, with flexibility as needed.
