Description

Robert Half Contracts Finance and Accounting team is seeking a part-time construction bookkeeper/Staff Accountant to join a construction firm in Rocklin! This part-time position construction accountant would be working off of SAGE 100 software and handling tasks such as:

Manage full-cycle Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R) processes, including invoice entry, vendor payments, client billing, and collections using Sage 100 Construction & Real Estate software.

Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts on a regular basis to ensure accuracy and financial integrity.

Prepare and maintain monthly financial reports, job cost summaries, and balance sheet reconciliations in coordination with the Controller or CFO.

Review and process preliminary notices, lien waivers, and lien releases, ensuring compliance with construction industry requirements and deadlines.

Collaborate with project managers and subcontractors to ensure timely and accurate billing, payment applications, and change order tracking.

Monitor and manage retention payments and aging receivables to maintain healthy cash flow and resolve outstanding balances.

Ensure data accuracy in Sage 100, continuously improving processes and reporting to support the accounting team's efficiency and the company's financial health.

Requirements

• Proven experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management.

• Proficiency in Sage 100 Construction & Real Estate software is mandatory.

• Strong understanding of bank reconciliations and financial reporting processes.

• Familiarity with construction industry accounting practices, including lien waivers and job costing.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks effectively.

• Ability to collaborate with team members and external stakeholders in a detail-oriented manner.

• Knowledge of additional accounting software such SAGE 100/300 is a must/plus.
