Description We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant with expertise in Yardi to join our team in Dallas, Texas. In this Contract-to-Permanent position, you will play a pivotal role in managing financial operations for property management activities, ensuring accurate accounting practices and compliance with established agreements. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in a dynamic real estate environment and have a strong background in property accounting.
Responsibilities:
• Calculate and record monthly property management fees in accordance with contractual agreements using Yardi software.
• Prepare and distribute management fee invoices to property owners in a timely and precise manner.
• Perform reconciliations of cash receipts related to property operations, ensuring accurate deductions for management fees.
• Create and post journal entries, fee revenue accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Collaborate with property managers and accounting teams to resolve discrepancies or adjustments related to management fees.
• Maintain accurate records of financial transactions and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends or issues and recommend solutions.
• Assist with month-end close processes, ensuring all tasks are completed within established deadlines.
• Support audits and provide documentation related to property accounting as needed.
• Contribute to the development and refinement of standard operating procedures for accounting processes. Requirements • Proven experience in property accounting and management, preferably within the commercial real estate sector.
• Proficiency in Yardi software, with a strong understanding of its accounting functionalities.
• Expertise in account reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Familiarity with month-end close processes and financial reporting requirements.
• Solid understanding of general ledger and subledger accounting principles.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure accuracy in financial operations.
