Job Description

Exciting Opportunity at MSK: Postdoctoral Researcher

The laboratory of Dr. Karlo Perica is seeking a highly motivated and successful individual with a background in immunology, cell therapy, gene editing, and/or synthetic biology. The laboratory focuses on developing new Chimeric Antigen Receptor T cell and other cell therapies for cancer. We seek to make cell therapy more accessible and more effective by developing “off-the-shelf” approaches using allogeneic cell therapies andin vivoediting.

Role Overview:

+ Developing allogeneic cells that resist immune rejection

+ Gene editing of CAR T cells to enhance potency and function

+ Understanding why CAR T cells are more effective for some patients, using both preclinical models and patient samples

+ In vivoediting of T cells for solid tumors

Key Requirements:

+ A Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. in immunology, cell therapy, gene engineering, or a related field.

+ Collaborative skills and the ability to work in a team

+ Willingness to work with animal models

+ Ability to perform self-directed and guided research

Our research spans the scientific spectrum from basic studies in animal models, to translational and correlative work with patient samples, to development of new cell therapy products. This position is therefore a unique opportunity to take a concept from initial conception to drug development. The laboratory thus seeks to develop a diverse and multi-disciplinary team of students, postdocs and research technicians.
