Job Description
CleanChoice Energy seeks a dynamic and professional Financial Analyst to join our Energy Markets and REC Markets team. This role will perform portfolio management, financial and variance analysis, and support management reporting. The ideal candidate is curious, enjoys learning in a fast-paced environment, is proactive and able to work independently with minimal supervision and has exceptional attention to detail. This person must be well organized and adept at managing multiple tasks.
Responsibilities
+ Assists with managing our Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) portfolio: procurement, tracking, retirement, accounting, and reporting.
+ Assists with managing wholesale energy procurement and related hedge portfolio reporting.
+ Prepares and communicates financial and business analyses (i.e. budgeting, load forecasting, pricing and gross margin calculation, variance analysis, etc.).
+ Supports compliance-related activity with local, state, and federal regulators.
+ Designs, maintains, and delivers ad hoc reports, and financial models.
+ Completes additional special projects as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
+ Bachelor’s Degree or higher in business administration. An accounting or finance degree is preferred. Academic exposure to the energy sector is preferred.
+ Curiosity. The candidate should enjoy learning and problem solving.
+ Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required – bonus points to knowledge of Python or SQL.
+ Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot is required.
+ Desire to work hard and a willingness to operate with some ambiguity.
+ Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
+ History of working effectively in a team environment while juggling multiple priorities.
+ Bonus points for experience in one of the following: renewable energy, sustainability, utilities, or wholesale power markets.
