    Transformative discoveries often require technologies that surpass current limitations. The Zhang Lab is dedicated to developing and applying innovative methods to dissect the complexity of cancer biology. We invite motivated postdoctoral researchers to join our team. Our current research interests mainly include: (1) developing advanced multiomic single-cell methods to investigate the molecular mechanisms of tumorigenesis, (2) Epigenetic regulation in cancer plasticity, and (3) Interpatient variability in cancer treatment. We thrive on curiosity, collaboration, and the excitement of pushing scientific boundaries to make impactful biological discoveries.

     

    *LEARNING OBJECTIVES*

     

    Postdoctoral researchers in the Zhang Lab will receive comprehensive training in both experimental and computational aspects of single-cell and epigenomic research. You will:

     

    1) Gain hands-on experience in developing and applying cutting-edge single-cell multiomic technologies.

     

    2) Lead independent research projects exploring epigenetic regulation.

     

    3) Learn to do integrative data analysis using state-of-the-art bioinformatic tools.

     

    4) Build expertise in experimental design, hypothesis testing, and data interpretation across both basic and translational cancer research.

     

    5) Strengthen scientific communication skills through regular presentations, manuscript preparation, and conference participation.

     

    6) Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, engaging with biologists, computational scientists, and clinicians across MD Anderson and beyond.

     

    7) Prepare for a successful independent research career by developing a strong publication record, receiving mentorship, and participating in professional development activities.

     

    *ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS*

     

    1) Ph.D. in biology, genomics, cancer biology, bioinformatics, or related field.

     

    2) Strong background and practical experience in experimental molecular biology or computational analysis.

     

    3) Excellent written and oral communication skills, collaborative spirit, and enthusiasm for meaningful research.

     

    4) Experience in cancer genomics, single cell genomics is preferred.
