It operates nine donor centers in South Texas, distributing blood, plasma, platelets, and other components to regional hospitals and emergency first responders. It also provides starting materials to therapeutic developers, and clinical research services. Its apheresis center received FACT accreditation in 2022 for peripheral blood cellular therapy product collection. As an AATB-accredited tissue bank, it offers tissue recovery from living and deceased donors._

General Summary
Responsible for activities related to the distribution of human tissues to include the proper documentation of inventory orders and storage. Will obtain tissue orders and prepare according to procedures.
Will participate in the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for tissue distribution.

Provide world class customer service by capturing and being responsive to the voice of the customer (internal or external, including donors for select positions) through multiple feedback channels in order to resolve issues and drive satisfaction in accordance with the BBG customer engagement, feedback, and complaint processes.
It is essential that the incumbent have a valid driver's license and be at least 18 years old with a good driving record to meet organization driving standards.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Tasks
Prepare tissue orders for shipment via various couriers, e.g.,
FedEx and local courier services, and perform distribution duties of human tissue.
Drive to hospitals and facilities, using a company motor vehicle, for stat deliveries and pickups.
Maintain complete and accurate records of all steps in the distribution of human tissue.
Perform all necessary quality control procedures and maintain complete records of results.
Complete tissue orders and distribute according to established procedures.
Follow proper safety policies and procedures.
Share on-call schedule duties with other Tissue Distribution staff.
Maintain an excellent working relationship with internal and external customers to include hospital medical personnel.
Attend in‐service training and meetings as required.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Run departmental errands as directed.
Education
Requires a high school diploma or general equivalency diploma.
Licenses and/or Certifications
Valid United States Driver’s License
Certified Tissue Bank Specialist is preferred
Experience
No prior specific work experience required.
Prefer two or more years of tissue banking experience or inventory control in a cGMP environment.
Knowledge
Must maintain knowledge of and perform according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policies.
Must have previous work experience with Microsoft Office, to include Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Skills
Must be capable of operating motor vehicles in all types of weather conditions.
Must have excellent telephone and/or email etiquette skills.
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
Must be able to assist in the continuing and expanding areas of tissue services.
Abilities
Must be able to keep information confidential.
Must be able to work in a team environment and relate well to others.
Must be neat in appearance and well groomed.
Must be professional, detail oriented, self-motivated, innovative, creative, assertive, organized, communicative, and have the ability to work independently.
