    General Statement of Duties:

    Ready to turn your clinical expertise into a life-changing career? The Arc Oneida-Lewis, a leader in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, is looking for a dedicated Behavior Intervention Specialist I (BIS I) to join our dynamic Clinical Solutions Team.

    ABOUT THE ROLE :

    As a Behavior Intervention Specialist I, you will be a vital part of a collaborative team focused on improving the quality of life for the people we support. In this role, you'll design and implement Functional Behavior Assessments and Positive Behavior Support Plans under the supervision of a Licensed Psychologist or Clinical Social Worker. Your work will directly impact the health, safety, and emotional well-being of individuals by promoting positive behaviors and empowering staff through training and guidance.

     

    Your day-to-day will include conducting assessments, preparing and presenting behavior plans (including those with restrictive elements), training program staff, monitoring data, and ensuring agency compliance with regulatory standards. You'll also assist in the supervision of BIS II staff and contribute your expertise during on-site activities and team meetings.

    SCHEDULE/HOURS :

    + Full-time position with flexible hours, which may include occasional evenings or weekends based on program needs.

    + This role requires travel throughout Oneida and Lewis Counties to support individuals and program teams across various locations.

    QUALIFICATIONS :

    Education & Certifications:

    + Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, School Psychology, or Applied Psychology

    + OR Board Certification in Behavior Analysis (BCBA) with a Master's in a related field

    + OR BCBA and NYS Licensed Mental Health Counselor

    Experience & Requirements:

    + At least 1 years of experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, including development and oversight of behavior support plans

    + Willingness to obtain certification in SCIP-R provided by the agency

    + Documented experience training others in behavioral interventions

    + Valid NYS Driver's License

    + Ability to travel locally and work independently or as part of a team
