TheDirector of Operationswill have direct oversight of the Warehouse and Transportation department. In conjunction with the management staff, this position will focus on achieving the optimum performance of personnel, equipment, and facilities. The incumbent will interface with all departments to ensure customer service goals are met while maintaining high standards in safety, service and efficiency.
Schedule:Monday - Friday, 8:00 am start
Salary Range:$146,000 - $151,000 + 20% bonus potential
Responsibilities
+ Coach, train and develop employees both informally (on-floor coaching) and formally (written evaluation). Fosters growth within the organization and implements succession planning for top performers.
+ Build an open and honest communication line with direct and indirect reports. Interact daily with the drivers, delivery assistants and warehouse personnel.
+ Develop and ensure a positive, supportive, and collaborative culture in the Operations group.
+ Oversee the tracking of fleet and warehouse performance against the established budget and operational goals. Ask questions and offer suggestions as needed.
+ Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of work methods, procedures, controls and staffing to achieve accurate and timely movement of product; recommend alternatives as needed.
+ Ensure compliance of all company policies, DOT, OSHA, and all other regulatory bodies.
+ Oversee the hiring, supervision, scheduling, and termination of personnel.
+ Forecasts staffing needs based on upcoming events, seasonal changes, etc.
+ Responsible for accurate inventory and productivity levels.
+ Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
+ All other duties as assigned.
Supervision Exercised
This position has direct supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
Qualifications & Skills
+ High School diploma or equivalent required. BS/BA Preferred
+ 10-15 years of progressive management experience in fleet and warehouse operations required
+ Food service or consumer goods distribution experience required
+ Demonstrated expertise in motivating and providing supportive leadership
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
+ Proficient knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Rules and Regulations
+ Expert knowledge of OSHA standards and regulations
+ Excellent written and verbal communication & interpersonal skills
+ WMS and TMS experience required
+ Effective communication skills and financial acumen required
Physical Demands
+ Ability to perform work at a desk or sit/stand workstation for extended periods of time
+ Ability to operate a computer keyboard and to view a computer screen for extended periods of time
+ Ability to interact with employees and/or customers in Distribution Center or customer locations
+ Ability to travel to customer locations, other Distribution Centers, Corporate Office, etc as needed
+ Ability to lift, tug, pull up to fifteen (15) pounds
