This facility manufactures cryogenic equipment to support the company’s industrial gas and liquified natural gas (LNG) business. In addition to pressure vessels, distillation columns, piping skids and cold boxes it is also the world’s leading manufacturer of (LNG) heat exchangers. Each heat exchanger consists of coil wound tube bundles housed within an aluminum or stainless-steel pressure shell, all of which are assembled and welded by skilled employees at the plant. This facility employs nearly 300 production technicians.
THE POSITION
As a **Principal Quality Engineer** here at Honeywell, you will be a key influencer in our unwavering commitment to achieving quality excellence. In this principal role as an SME and Technical leader, you will provide mentorship to team of quality engineers, ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality products to our valued customers. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide array of critical tasks, including technical guidance, strategic support to Engineering and Projects and enhance quality standards.
With a strong foundation of technical fundamentals and comprehensive understanding of ASME, API, AWS, CSA, European directives w.r.t welding and NDE, your guidance will lead to the consistent enhancement of product quality, instilling trust in our customers and setting new industry benchmarks. You will report directly to our Sr Quality Engineering Manager and you’ll work out of our Rosemont, IL location on a Hybrid work schedule.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Develop, implement project Quality Plans, develop QAQC technical specifications.
+ Train and provide technical mentorship to QAQC Engineers.
+ Facilitate, plan, schedule Pre-inspection Meetings with suppliers.
+ Support the Quality metrics of supplier performance.
+ Develop, create, improve QA/QC systems by using turtle diagrams
+ Analyze relevant information quickly to understand problems and ability to address complex issues and develop innovative solutions.
+ Identifies risks and works with internal stakeholders, ability to engage customers with high technical solutions
+ Volunteers to lead design/technology improvement team projects, identifies opportunities for change and takes on accountability.
+ Builds industry recognition through contributions to outside technical meetings/conferences, and publications in industry journals. Interfaces with external professional organizations, technical committees, industry suppliers/specialists, and/or research institutions
+ Spearhead the quality engineering team, cultivating a culture of technical excellence and seamless collaboration among members
+ Provide advanced guidance, mentorship, and substantial support to guarantee the teams prosperity
+ Develop and implement sophisticated, data driven quality assurance strategies, intricate plans, and cutting-edge processes that serve as the bedrock of our quality initiatives
+ Employ advanced data analytics techniques to continuously monitor and dissect intricate quality performance metrics
+ Utilize data driven insights to optimize product quality and revolutionize the efficiency of our quality control processes
+ Spearhead cross functional, highly technical teams to propel and execute visionary continuous improvement initiatives across the organization
+ Collaborate with diverse departments to pinpoint and implement quality enhancements
+ Conduct thorough and technically advanced product and process audits with precision and sophistication
+ Ensure the organizations unwavering compliance with the most intricate industry standards and regulations
+ Proactively manage customer complaints of the most complex nature by leading in depth root cause investigations and the implementation of multifaceted corrective actions
+ Continuously monitor the effectiveness of these actions with an unwavering aim to elevate customer satisfaction through technically advanced quality management.

+ Base Salary Range: $133,000 - $166,000

YOU MUST HAVE
+ Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field
+ 8+ years of EPC / Modular experience in the Refinery / Petrochemical industry, demonstrating your understanding of the unique quality challenges in this sector with experience in modular fabrication / shop experience.
+ Practical “hands on” exposure to reactors, trayed columns, vessels, S/T exchangers, air coolers, firedheaters, compressor packages, pumps, piping, valves, expansion joints, structural steel, refractory, coatings. Includes material receiving inspections, fabrication in-progress inspections, and final inspections (dimensional, pressure testing. Etc.)
+ Good understanding of the Design codes: ASME, National Board Inspection Code (NBIC), Canadian and European CE Marking directives.
+ Comprehensive knowledge and working experience with ASME Section II, V, VIII, IX; ASME B31.3, AWS D1.1, Canadian standards, European directives for CE marking certification and relevant EN standards.
+ Knowledge on material specification for CS, SS, low alloys, high nickel and good understanding of ASME / EN Standard technical requirements including Metallurgy fundamentals.
+ ASME, AWS, EN standards knowledge w.r.t welding and NDE: Exposure to NDE methods (PT, MT, UT, RT, VT, PAUT, Eddy Current, Helium Leak), PMI, Hardness testing, Ferrite testing, UT thickness surveys, coating mil thickness testing, etc. Welding processes and procedure qualifications.
+ ASME, AWS, EN standards knowledge w.r.t welding and NDE.
+ Knowledge and experience for Refractory application.
+ Application painting systems and knowledge of NACE.
+ Expertise in developing tools and techniques to strengthen our data-driven initiatives.
+ Practical exposure to electrical testing, such as megger, resistance, point-to-point continuity, and functional testing
