    Job Description

    Job Title: Driving Under the Influence Intervention Program Director- Atlanta

     

    Pay Grade: L

     

    Workplace: Hybrid B

    Job Summary:

    Provide oversight and management of all processes related to implementing the law concerning DUI Offenders including:

    1) Supervise DUI Intervention Program (DUIIP) staff members located throughout the State of Georgia.

     

    2) Oversee the approval process for of all DUI Clinical Evaluators (CE) and Treatment Providers (TP).

     

    3) Be responsible for the initial and ongoing training of Clinical Evaluators and Treatment Providers.

     

    4) The Director sees that the DUI Rebate Funds are invested in CE and TP continuing education and quality improvement.

     

    5) Supports the best practices in the DSM criteria.

     

    6) Seeks cross-training with other governmental agencies that service DUI offenders.

     

    7) Manage day-to-day interaction with Clinical Evaluators and Treatment Providers relative to regulatory and clinical issues around DUI Offenders in treatment.

     

    8) Oversees distribution and assures proper utilization of pre-numbered Treatment Enrollment forms and Certificates of Completion for DUI Offenders.

     

    9) Periodically inspects the work of Clinical Evaluators and Treatment Providers via contracted auditors to protect the public from unethical clinical practices.

     

    10) Negotiate and maintain a Memoranda of Understanding with the Department of Driver’s Services.

     

    11) Oversees the development and maintenance of databases and of the central registry of clinical evaluators and treatment providers.

     

    12) Manages the day-to-day interactions with in state and out-of-state persons with DUI’s in Georgia including the requirements for clinical evaluation and treatment.

     

    13) Oversee the Requirements Met Certificate approval process.

     

    14) Maintains and updates the Procedure Manual for Clinical Evaluators and Treatment Providers

     

    15) Proposes changes in the DBHDD Rules and/or State Law concerning DUI offenders.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    A certified addiction counselor at the level of CAC II or above

    Preferred Qualifications:

    - Masters or Doctorate degree in a counseling field

     

    - Certification in addiction counseling at the Master Addiction Counselor level

     

    - 10 or more years clinical experience in addiction treatment

     

    - 5 or more years experience in program management in State government and/or large organizations

    Bachelor's degree in operations management, business administration, or a related field which includes two (2) years in a managerial or supervisory role; or six (6) years of related professional experience which includes two (2) years in a managerial or supervisory role. Note: An equivalent combination of knowledge, education, job or intern experience, training, or certifications that provides the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted year-over-year.
