    Position Overview:

    Under direct supervision of the Manager Ambulatory Clinic oversees a staff of 15 comprised of RN’s, LPN’s, and Medical Assistants. Staff are responsible for supporting Physicians, Certified Nurse Midwives, Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants.

    Supervisor Tasks and Responsibilities:

    + Manage and Schedule nurses and clinical support staff

    + Creating and implementing nursing policies to foster a positive and organized work environment while planning, prioritizing and assigning health care tasks to clinical support team members

    + Encouraging all staff to adhere to the highest standards in patient care and conducting regular staff reviews

    + Maintaining knowledge of current trends in nursing and ambulatory care and educating teams

    + Communicating with patients and their family members as needed

    + Managing patient and employee records with a focus on following HIPAA regulations and quality standards

    + Providing a direct line of communication between patients, nursing staff and physicians

    + Educate and train new nurses and evaluate their performance

     

    Clinical Tasks and Responsibilities

     

    + Provide professional nursing care to patients for the Department of OB/GYN.

    + Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care needs in the practice.

    + Manage telephone communications with patients, providers, staff, insurance companies, and other outside entities

    + Triage patient calls and perform other clinical duties

    + Check in of patients,

    + Take vital signs,

    + Administer injections,

    + Assist clinician with exams,

    + Conduct prescription calls,

    + Arrange for patient testing,

    + Obtain authorizations and referrals for patient's insurance,

    + Assist with patient education,

    + Maintain medical charts,

    + Provide backup to other staff as needed

    + Other duties as assigned.
