Work shift: 4am-12:30pm - 5 days a week onsite
This is an On-Site role based out of our Laboratory in Fountain Valley, California
The Target Pay Range for this position is $67,000-78,900** **annually. At Antech, pay decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, education, training and budget.
Job Purpose/Overview
The Chemistry Lab Supervisor supervises day-to-day activities within the laboratory unit/group/area/department. Contributes to the development of operating policies and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

+ Supervises the staff including assigning work, monitoring work activities, evaluating results, evaluating performance, and resolving escalated issues
+ Administers employment actions, provides coaching/guidance to staff, supports staff training and development
+ Provides input on the creation of new department policies and procedures.
+ Leads key work activities of the lab unit/group/area/department including planning and organizing work, providing for adequate staffing, and ensures work for the department stays on schedule so that customer satisfaction is maintained
+ Contributes to maintenance of department diagnostic equipment and other technical resources. When needed partners with vendors to resolve equipment issues
+ Maintain supply of reagents and consumables needed by department
+ Ensure that all Quality Assurance/Quality Control standards are met by staff.
+ Prepares reports, presentations, and other information summarizing work activities and various analyses as needed to highlight issues and resolve questions
+ Assist in development and management of financial budget requirements
+ Provide business review information to Lab Manager
+ Consult with clients to explain or resolve testing issues and procedures
+ Maintains knowledge of changes and developments in the industry affecting work activities. May participate in outside industry groups and forums related to business activities
+ Reads, understands, and follows applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), including safety and quality procedures
+ Maintains clean and organized work area. Restocks supplies as needed
+ Performs other duties as assigned

Education and Experience
+ Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience in science-related field preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
+ Prior diagnostic lab supervisor experiences including hiring, performance management, motivational and mediating abilities
+ Ability to organize, prioritize and direct work activities.
+ Experience with the lab operations, testing and services of the area(s) supervised including test set-up, test reading, releasing test results, and troubleshooting equipment.
+ Reasoning and analytical skills to resolve issues.
+ Attention to detail and organized with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
+ Skilled communicator able to exchange accurate information.
+ Proficiency in the English Language, which allows for participation in team meetings, accurate entry of data into company systems and understanding of written directions.
+ Positive, can-do attitude
+ Personal computer skills, including strong typing ability and proficient use of Microsoft Office
Working Conditions
+ Stationary Position- must be able to remain in a stationary position for up to 2 hours.
+ Operates a computer and other lab equipment accurately and efficiently.
+ Occasionally required to bend, kneel, stoop, or crouch
+ Required to lift, move, and carry up to 20 lbs.
+ The ability to observe details at close range.
+ Extended hours may be needed
+ Laboratory environment with potential biohazards present
+ Potential for exposure to agents known to cause zoonotic disease in humans and use of potentially hazardous chemicals as defined by the National Hazard Communication Standards. A complete list of such chemicals can be made available.
