    SUMMER LEAD TEACHER

    To participate in the planning and implementation of summer activities and provide supervision and care under health and safety requirements for children enrolled in summer camp.

     

    Summer camp is June 23-August 14 for children ages 4-12 years

     

    Location is 3400 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave, SE Washington, DC.

     

    Pay rate is $25-27 per hour

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

    + As the classroom Group Leader, provide guidance and mentorship to the Assistant Group Leader and other staff

    + Lead the planning and implementation of summer camp activities during camp operating hours

    + Maintaining positive communication with staff, children, families

    + Implementing universal strategies to support children with and without developmental disabilities and delays

    + Supervising and supporting personal care routines • Provide assistance and support to children based on individual needs

    + Provide active supervision of students in your care at all times

    + Attend required staff and family meetings • Participate in staff developmental training activities

    + Maintain appropriate cleanliness of room and materials including strict adherence to program sanitation, health and safety procedures

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

    An Associate’s Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or related field (minimum 12 credits in early childhood education) and three (3) years of supervised experience working with children under the age of fifteen (15) years in an authorized school or child development center.
