Agricultural Test Engineer

Job description:

This position involves conducting fatigue and overload testing on equipment, subsystems, and components. The role of the lab engineer is to assess the acceptability of component, subsystem, and product designs and recommend alternatives to enhance performance, reliability, quality, durability, and margin improvement. The lab engineer collaborates with the product development team to resolve product issues and develop mission profiles for duty cycle development and test stand loading requirements.

Responsibilities

+ Execute fatigue and overload tests within the Stress and Fatigue Lab, including planning, fixture design, instrumentation setup, data collection, and analysis.

+ Collaborate with design engineers to interpret data for components to achieve desired results.

+ Prepare, organize, and submit timely and concise reports, including data reduction and analysis of system/component performance, reliability, and durability.

+ Maintain accurate and comprehensive test records for reference and analysis.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in CAD and mechanical engineering.

+ Basic electrical knowledge, including voltage and resistance concepts.

+ Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Agricultural, Electromechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing).

+ Relevant co-op, internship, or related work experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with a high mechanical aptitude and experience with heavy machinery. An agricultural engineering degree or someone who grew up on a farm would be the best candidate!

+ Bachelors Degree in Agricultural Engineering preferred

+ Familiarity with data acquisition concepts and tools such as Somat/HBM, DEWESoft, National Instruments, or Campbell data loggers.

+ Understanding of test equipment and analysis software, including nCode and Matlab.

+ Strong hands-on skills and ability to execute tasks with minimal supervision.

+ Quick learner of new tools and techniques.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $34.00/hr.
