Job Title: FPGA Design EngineerJob Description
We are seeking a highly skilled FPGA Design Engineer with expertise in high-speed interface timing, embedded soft-core processors, and custom IP development. This role involves working closely with the FPGA team during the validation phase of the current product to verify operations and ensure performance meets specifications. Additionally, you will contribute to the design discussions and preliminary reviews for the next product variant.
Responsibilities
+ Define and implement RGMII timing constraints to ensure robust high-speed data communication.
+ Perform simulation and verification of top-level FPGA designs using SystemVerilog and VUnit frameworks.
+ Integrate and validate NIOS II soft-core processors within FPGA designs.
+ Design and implement custom NIOS II instructions, including 64-bit math functions, to optimize performance.
+ Collaborate with the FPGA team to validate current design functionality and ensure compliance with performance specifications.
+ Participate in design discussions and preliminary reviews for the next-generation product variant.
+ Document design specifications, test plans, and simulation results.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
+ 3+ years of experience in FPGA design and verification.
+ Proficiency in SystemVerilog, VHDL, and FPGA simulation tools.
+ Strong understanding of timing analysis, especially for RGMII or other high-speed interfaces.
+ Experience with Intel (Altera) Quartus, NIOS II, and custom instruction development.
+ Familiarity with VUnit or similar verification frameworks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with 64-bit arithmetic logic design.
+ Knowledge of embedded C/C++ for NIOS II software development.
+ Familiarity with AXI/Avalon bus protocols.
+ Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $75.00 - $95.00/hr.
