    As a Transportation Project Manager, you will provide technical design expertise to the project team and ensure the overall quality of client deliverables. You will perform technical design for assigned projects with a working knowledge of traffic engineering in civil engineering, and mentor team members in various aspects of project design.

    Responsibilities

    + Mentor and direct team members in project design, including engineering calculations and computer design software.

    + Collect and assemble complex project data.

    + Prepare complex project documents, such as specifications and bid documents.

    + Review complex drawings to ensure clarity and thoroughness.

    + Prepare quantity takeoffs.

    + Manage external communications and document projects.

    + Conduct complex site observations.

    + Understand and meet internal and external customers' needs and expectations, and develop and improve client relationships.

    + Manage the preparation of reports, studies, proposals, blogs, and journal articles.

    + Understand basic financial terms and concepts as they apply to projects.

    + Account for individual project task involvement, including scheduling, scope, role, and budget.

    + Track multiple task budgets and schedules.

    + Lead or contribute to business development efforts and develop qualifying leads.

    Essential Skills

    + Transportation engineering

    + Microstation

    + Highway design

    + Civil 3D

    + Traffic engineering

    + Professional Engineer certification

    + 15 years of experience in transportation and highway design

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Dual traffic and planning experience

    + Modeling background with Vissam (not Synchro)

    + Traffic signal timing and operations timings

    + Strong ITS background

    + Existing client relationships and ability to build new ones with municipalities and DOTs

    + Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering

    + Experience in project scoping, costing, and budget management

    Work Environment

    This position offers a collaborative work environment with flexible working hours from Monday through Friday. Additional work outside of regular hours may be necessary to fulfill the requirements of the position. The team consists of approximately 40 professionals, ranging from surveying, CAD design, and engineering, supporting clients from various municipalities and communities surrounding the Kansas City Metro area.     Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $155000.00/yr.
