Job Description
The Manufacturing Engineer oversees activities associated with the planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of manufacturing methods, processes, and operations for both new and existing products. The role ensures effective use of materials, equipment, and personnel to produce quality products at minimal costs. The engineer will develop, implement, and maintain methods, operation sequences, and processes for the manufacture and fabrication of parts, including estimating manufacturing costs and time standards and recommending tooling and process requirements. Acting as a liaison with internal and external customers to release new products, they will also participate in the selection, development, and evaluation of personnel to ensure efficient operation. Additionally, the engineer provides high-level technical expertise in project planning, task layouts, technical calculations, design and analysis functions, report writing, presentations, and other engineering functions.
Responsibilities
+ Develop engineering solutions to improve the manufacture of new and existing products.
+ Enhance current production processes using applicable methods and procedures.
+ Transfer new products into production with a design for manufacturability approach.
+ Participate in developing and maintaining documentation for processes and designs.
+ Understand key business drivers and use this understanding to accomplish tasks.
+ Solve problems in straightforward situations by analyzing solutions using technical experience and judgment.
+ Exercise independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
+ Ensure regular, consistent, and punctual attendance while being flexible to variable schedules and additional hours.
Essential Skills
+ B.S. degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Industrial engineering.
+ 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
+ Experience with composite materials and processing techniques such as autoclave, RTM, and compression molding.
+ Experience with AS9100 quality management system.
+ Excellent working knowledge of GD&T.
+ Self-starter with excellent time management skills.
+ Ability to establish objectives and specify strategies and actions to achieve them.
+ Experience with marketing support, including meetings, presentations, customer interface, and proposals.
+ Comfortable working in teams and independently.
+ Ability to make technical, data-driven decisions with limited management support.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ 2+ years of experience in composite manufacturing, including tool design.
Work Environment
The work environment is dynamic, comprised of six purpose-built centers of excellence throughout the USA and Mexico, each strategically focused on serving specific markets across aerospace engines, airframes, munitions, radomes, antennas, and fuel containment. The role may require variable schedules and additional hours, emphasizing regular and punctual attendance.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $115000.00/yr.
Base salary + bonus + medical benefits
