Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Job Description

As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you play a pivotal role in the success of daily operations and in providing compassionate patient care. You are an essential member of the care delivery team, responsible for communicating patient and team needs, collaborating with the multidisciplinary team, taking direction from the RN, and appropriately delegating tasks to other team members.

Responsibilities

+ Promote and restore patients' health by completing the nursing process.

+ Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members.

+ Provide support to patients, friends, and families.

+ Supervise assigned team members.

+ Ensure concise, pertinent, and complete documentation using computerized medical record processes.

+ Ensure clinical areas are properly supplied and exam rooms are available and stocked.

Essential Skills

+ LPN, Triage

+ Vitals

+ Nursing

+ Patient Care

+ Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)

+ Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification from the New York State Education Department (NYSED)

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Minimum of 1 year of experience as an LPN

+ Active NY state license

+ Experience in a hospital setting within the last 2 years

+ Ability to take own patient assignments with RN support

Work Environment

The position is set in a general medical/surgical environment with plenty of support. The facility operates with 528 total staffed beds. Shifts include 5 day, 5 night, or a 5 day/night mix, with flexible scheduling options of 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts. Day shifts run from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, and night shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am. The work environment uses the Epic charting system, and attire includes any combination of navy and white scrubs. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
