Laboratory Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Laboratory Assistant to perform routine analytical testing within our dynamic laboratory environment. The ideal candidate will support various lab operations, including solution preparation, waste management, and data entry, ensuring overall productivity and safety.

Responsibilities

+ Perform routine analytical testing as directed by protocols and work instructions.

+ Prepare solutions, clean glassware, and dispose of solid/liquid waste to assist in laboratory operations.

+ Alert lab leadership of issues or discrepancies involving sample integrity, supply inventory, safety concerns, or analysis irregularities.

+ Communicate troubleshooting opportunities within testing processes.

+ Operate Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), Chromatography Data System (CDS), and other specific computer systems.

+ Search databases for test methods, specifications, and standards required for analyses.

+ Record, calculate, and report analytical results promptly and accurately.

+ Review analytical data and various LIMS reports.

+ Assist in improving established procedures and implementing continuous improvement projects.

+ Notify leads when supplies/consumables are at critical levels.

+ Observe good safety and housekeeping practices.

+ Participate in lab/site safety programs and cross-site initiatives.

Essential Skills

+ 1-3 years of experience in a laboratory setting.

+ Familiarity with ICP and HPLC techniques.

+ Understanding of Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and Chromatography Data System (CDS).

+ Proficiency in searching databases for test methods and standards.

+ Ability to record and report analytical results accurately.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ High school diploma with lab experience OR Bachelor's degree in Chemistry preferred.

+ Strong communication skills.

+ Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Work Environment

Shift 2 pm to 10:30 pm. Laboratory Technician will perform routine testing on samples in the Analytical Services laboratory, contributing to process control, quality control, process development, product development, and waste management.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
