Senior Power Systems Engineer

Description
Perform Short circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies for commercial, industrial, education, healthcare, and generation facilities using SKM, ETAP, and/or Easypower software. Applies knowledge of low and medium voltage switchgear, motor control centers, circuit breakers, panel boards, and disconnects to determine cost effective mitigation solutions from the results and recommendations of power system studies. Develop study reports and communicate results and recommendations to customers. Perform data collection activities. Develop and/or implement arc flash mitigation designs. Interpret new construction drawing packages. Develop relay protective setpoints and settings files. Develop and/or update equipment control schematics, one lines, three lines, and wiring diagrams. Successfully execute small to medium sized projects with limited oversight. Self-manage assigned projects and job cost accountability to perform work within budgeted cost estimates. Effectively communicate with other departments and customers to ensure activities are properly coordinated.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related from an ABET accredited school. 8+ years of experience performing power system studies such as Arc Flash, Load Flow, and Short Circuit studies. Experience using SKM and/or ETAP. Experience supporting commercial or industrial facilities. Must have the ability to work independently, accurately, and have high attention to detail. Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively discuss technical recommendations with customers.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $145000.00/yr.
401k (match 100% up to 3%, 50% up to 5%). Health (BCBS of MS). Dental. Vision. STD. Life insurance. PTO (120 hours accrual to cap, 40 hours of sick/personal time).
