Summary This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), United States Coast Guard (USCG), located in District of Columbia, District of Columbia. Responsibilities You will serve as a INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (SYSANALYSIS) with responsibility to address a wide variety of issues pertaining to the assessment of AI systems capabilities, requirements, policy compliance, and special technical advisory functions regarding national, theater, and tactical level AI intelligence systems. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Developing future AI capabilities and equipping Coast Guard Intelligence elements and activities with advanced AI systems. Building organization's AI vision. Facilitating interactions between internal and external decision makers to synchronize and integrate courses of action in support of objectives. Conducting long-range, strategic planning efforts with internal and external partners to support AI capability development and use. AND To qualify at the GS-14 grade level, applicants must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Conduct AI risk assessments to ensure models and/or other solutions are performing as designed. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. NOTE: Education cannot be substituted for experience at this grade level. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Student Loan - Selectee(s) for this position who are newly appointed to a permanent or term position may be eligible for student loan repayment up to $10,000 (pre-tax) for one calendar year.
