Associate Product Counsel, Core+

Minimum qualifications:
+ JD, LL.B., equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience.
+ 3 years of attorney-level experience in-house,at a law firm or in government.
+ Experience with generative AI, privacy, IP, open source, competition, content moderation/safety, accessibility, or consumer protection.
+ Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law (e.g., have registered in-house status) in the state in which the position is located.
Preferred qualifications:
+ Experience with product counseling.
+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
+ Ability to make decisions in an ambiguous environment with imperfect information.
+ Ability to manage many requests from varied client teams and balance competing priorities with limited direction.
+ Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex issues in writing and in meetings.

The Core+ Legal team advises teams focused on making Google work better for users, developers, and Googlers. We provide product counsel support for Core, gTech, and the Functions. We counsel products and systems that enable Google services like common identity, data infrastructure, developer tools, counter-abuse, privacy infrastructure, customer support and internal tools. We enable product teams to create cohesive experiences across Google products, unlock the power of data, simplify for developers, build integrated solutions to protect users, and empower Googlers with world-class technology.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $210,000-$312,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. + Advise on an evolving portfolio of products and areas within Core, gTech and the Functions.
+ Identify and solve complex issues in areas such as generative AI, privacy, IP, open source, competition, content moderation/safety, accessibility, and consumer protection.
+ Provide risk-calibrated guidance to enable compliance with existing and new laws.
+ Collaborate with other legal teams, business teams, and cross-functional partners.
