Job Summary
The College of Engineering and Applied Science encourages applications for the Assistant Director of Engineering ProReady Career Advising! This position provides leadership and strategic oversight of the career advising and programming function of the Engineering ProReady team in the College of Engineering & Applied Science (CEAS). This role is responsible for advising students, developing and managing career programs, supervising career advising staff, collaborating closely with key collaborators, and advancing quality career advising practices.
The Assistant Director collaborates with CEAS and campus career advising leaders, employer relations teams, faculty, and academic advisors to ensure CEAS students receive the necessary guidance to chart their career paths, gain relevant professional experience (EX: internships), and grow their professional network to become ProReady for the workforce.
Uniquely, the Assistant Director leads career advising and programming for CEAS international students (including graduate-international students), in collaboration with CEAS and campus partners and support offices. The Assistant Director also serves as the CEAS liaison to the campus Education Abroad office to ensure all CEAS students are knowledgeable of, and can access, study abroad opportunities.
The Assistant Director of Engineering ProReady Career Advising position is rostered in CEAS and works with the Sr. Director of Student Professional Development. The Assistant Director is an active leader on the ProReady team and works to support the CEAS ProReady Initiative, the career and professional development initiative in CEAS. This position is new in CEAS, which requires candidates to possess excellent career advising, strategizing, project partner engagement, creative thinking, and staff development skills.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
_Leadership, Strategy, and Supervision:_
+ Manages a team of professional Engineering ProReady Career Advisors, student workers, and other collateral staff in Engineering ProReady and CEAS, ensuring alignment of career advising and programming with Engineering ProReady objectives.
+ Set strategic goals and metrics for Engineering ProReady Career Advising and programming, tracks progress, and implements the best processes.
+ Represents career advising and programming initiatives in Engineering ProReady leadership team meetings, contributing strategic recommendations to department-wide initiatives.
+ Ensures that Engineering ProReady Career Advisors receive appropriate training, professional development, and consistent alignment of career advising and programming for CEAS students.
+ Coordinates with the Associate Director of Embedded Career (campus Career Services), CEAS managers, and other campus partners to ensure alignment with career advising standards.
+ Serves as a point of contact for Engineering ProReady, attends meetings with key collaborators, participates in relevant committees and projects, advocates for and represents ProReady, trains key collaborators, shares relevant information, and collaborates on partnered events.
_Engineering Career Advising and Programming:_
+ Leads the creation and refinement of a College-level Engineering career advising and programming model that aligns with industry needs and the Engineering ProReady goals of students.
+ Serves as the dedicated Engineering ProReady career advisor to CEAS international students (with an emphasis on graduate international students), in collaboration with relevant partners (International Students & Scholars Services, CEAS departments/units, campus Career Services, etc.), through scheduled appointments, drop-in sessions, and group advising delivered in-person and virtually.
+ Develops and facilitates dedicated Engineering ProReady career workshops (with an emphasis on graduate international students) in collaboration with partners listed above.
+ In career advising and workshops, the Assistant Director may focus primarily on topics including career exploration, internship and job search strategy, pursuing relevant experiences (research, study abroad, student orgs, leadership), interview preparation, utilization of CPT/OPT, with an emphasis on international and graduate-international students.
+ Collaborates with the Engineering ProReady Employer Relations team, CEAS alumni, faculty, and professional networks to know the latest with employer recruitment practices.
+ Tracks and reports student appointment notes and program participation data in alignment with Engineering ProReady and campus Career Services protocols.
+ Manages technology and platforms related to area of responsibility.
_Program Management and Evaluation:_
+ Serves as the CEAS liaison to the campus International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS) office and attends monthly International Student & Scholars Network meetings.
+ Collaborates with key collaborators in CEAS academic departments to integrate Engineering ProReady career development into the curriculum.
+ Tracks and assesses Engineering ProReady career advising, programming, and student career outcomes that align with key performance indicators of the Engineering ProReady initiative, CEAS Strategic Vision, ABET accreditation, and other campus data initiatives. Assesses career advising and program effectiveness and recommends data-informed improvements.

+ Is responsible for budget planning related to Engineering ProReady career advising and programming in collaboration with the Sr. Director of Student Professional Development, ensuring Engineering ProReady financial resources are allocated effectively.
_Additional Duties as Assigned:_
+ Attends Engineering ProReady, CEAS, or related meetings at the direction of the CEAS Sr. Director of Career & Professional Development.
+ Develops professional skills and knowledge, knows the latest with relevant trends and practices in career advising (both general and CEAS-specific), and participates in relevant professional development.
+ Given the changing nature of work and Engineering ProReady's commitment to be adaptable and innovative as the nature of our work and students' needs change, the Assistant/Associate Director will assume duties as assigned by the CEAS Sr. Director of Student Professional Development.

What We Can Offer
The starting salary range for this position is $75,000 - $82,000 annually. Relocation assistance is available within department guidelines.

What We Require
+ Bachelor's degree. Equivalent combination of education, credentials, and experience may substitute.
+ Five years professional experience, which may include; career services or experiential learning in an educational or non-profit setting, advising/coaching/counseling experience with an emphasis on career or workforce development, experience serving international student populations, student services, academic advising, professional recruitment, or related experience.
