THE POSITION

The Department of Agriculture is seeking dependable candidates for the position of Security Officer 1 at the Philadelphia Parx Racetrack. In this position, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the security of the detention barn, ensuring a safe environment for all involved. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this role, you will provide security of the detention barn by verifying the credentials of all individuals entering the facility and preventing unauthorized access. Your responsibilities include ensuring that samples are securely stored and assisting the state veterinarian at the conclusion of each day's races to confirm the safety of the samples and the security of the building. You will prepare the test barn for veterinary staff and may be required to perform additional tasks as assigned by your supervisor during personnel shortages. Additionally, you will be responsible for tagging horses in the paddock that are selected for testing in the detention barn.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
+ Full-time employment
+ Work hours are 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday - Wednesday; 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Thursday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
+ Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
+ Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS
Post Employment Requirement:
+ This position will require possession of a Commission Employee License once hired.
