Job Details The Hospital ADT Systems Analyst is responsible for the design, implementation, optimization, and support of the Epic Grand Central module, with a dedicated focus on bed management, patient movement, and Admission–Discharge–Transfer (ADT) workflows. This role serves as a key liaison between IT and operational stakeholders such as nursing, care coordination, patient placement, and clinical leadership to ensure effective and efficient patient flow throughout the hospital. The analyst plays a critical role in optimizing throughput, supporting capacity management, and maintaining real-time awareness of patient locations and statuses. Duties and Responsibilities: Designs, configures, tests, and maintains Epic Grand Central functionality, including patient admissions, intra-hospital transfers, discharges, bed planning, and unit-based workflows. Builds and supports tools used for bed management, unit occupancy, transfer readiness, and discharge prioritization. Maintains accurate ADT event processing to ensure real-time tracking of patient location and status within the health system. Partners with clinical and operational teams (e.g., patient placement, nursing leadership, care management) to ensure workflows and system configuration support timely and accurate patient movement. Supports surge planning, internal unit relocations, overflow strategies, and capacity optimization through proper system design. Assists in the implementation and tracking of delay codes, discharge barriers, and automated patient movement alerts. Provides daily operational support for Grand Central users, including resolving issues related to patient movement, ADT event processing, and bed availability. Participates in downtime planning, including strategies to maintain situational awareness and continuity of care when systems are offline. Responds to incidents, service requests, and problem tickets related to ADT and bed management, ensuring root cause analysis and documentation. Contributes to initiatives related to patient throughput, command center strategies, and enterprise-wide bed utilization improvements. Assists in Epic upgrades, change control, and optimization efforts involving ADT configuration or new Grand Central features. Collaborates in cross-functional efforts to reduce discharge delays and enhance the accuracy of patient movement data. Works closely with clinicians, operational leads, and IT colleagues to document workflows, configurations, and training guides. Maintains system build documentation and participates in validation efforts with stakeholders. Ensures build decisions support organizational goals for efficient, safe, and timely patient movement. Contributes to and consistently applies Catholic Health policies, procedures, and benefits to all customers and/or employees without discrimination. Position Requirements and Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Technology, Nursing, Health Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Solid understanding of hospital inpatient operations, patient placement, bed management, and discharge workflows. Experience supporting centralized bed placement, patient flow command centers, or capacity management initiatives. Familiarity with performance metrics such as length of stay, boarding time, and bed turnover. Experience with Epic Reporting Workbench or other tools used to track ADT-related operational performance. Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience supporting hospital clinical or operational systems, with direct experience in Epic Grand Central. Epic Grand Central certification (or must obtain within 6 months of hire). Salary Range USD $86,000.00 - USD $120,000.00 /Yr. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
