Job Summary
Battelle is currently seeking a **Cleanroom Metal Deposition Technician** **_._** This position is located **in Columbus, OH** with the Microfabrication group.
This is a full-time position. The cleanroom metal technician is responsible for loading, running, and unloading both production and development parts through the e-beam vacuum deposition chambers. Performing routine cleaning, tool preventative and re-active maintenance is also required.
Responsibilities
+ Follows written/documented quality, process, and safety procedures.
+ Accurately documents process parameters and data. Maintains data in manufacturing and nonconformance databases.
+ Operates and maintains e-beam vacuum deposition chambers to support cleanroom production and developmental programs.
+ Documents issues with the implementation of procedures and coordinates resolution with engineers, project manager and technicians.
+ Contributes to the technical planning of project work including recommending, testing and implementing improved methods.
+ Works with engineers to help design metal tooling fixtures.
+ Provides input on task efforts and costs.
+ Records and reports monthly inventory information.
+ Participates in and contributes to problem solving efforts/root cause analysis.
+ Performs area housekeeping tasks.
+ Troubleshoots tools and process issues and makes suggestions and contributes to solutions.
Key Qualifications
+ Associates degree in related field; 3 years of applicable experience; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
+ Ability to troubleshoot electronics and operate instruments, sensors,calibrated equipment.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point.)
+ Ability to prioritize assignments, schedule time effectively, and organize work.
+ Self-motivated and ability to work independently and in groups.
+ Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
+ Ability to lift 35 lbs.
+ Ability to work in a clean room environment requiring specialized cleanroom attire and work protocols.
+ Perform work with a consistently high degree of accuracy and attention to detail including meticulous work habits and neat, accurate, legible record keeping.
+ Excellent work ethics in terms of attendance, organization, and team skills.
+ Strong customer focus and commitment to customer satisfaction through prioritization, quality, efficiency, and professionalism.
+ Able to use dust mask and a positive air pressure respirator.
+ Able to quickly respond to audible and/or visible warning signals.
+ US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
+ Electronics/technical associates degree
+ Security clearance
+ Experience working in a clean room environment
+ Experience with safe work practice protocols, including chemical handling procedures
+ Two years of experience running and maintaining e-beam metal vacuum deposition chambers or similar equipment.
+ Experience designing tooling/fixtures.
+ Familiar with high voltage and high voltage equipment.
+ Familiar with high vacuum and Swagelok type lines.
+ Experience operating under a Quality Management System, such as ISO 9001, AS9100, etc.
+ Familiarity with other typical cleanroom processes such as lithography.
