Responsibilities
The Vent Program Manager is responsible for the efficient management of respiratory therapy services in their assigned account. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the areas of clinical services, personnel management, account management, financial management and business process management. The Vent Program Manager will ensure the timely and appropriate delivery of services to the patients in their assigned account; the coordination of the internal and external billing process and payroll; assurance of education related to care and operations; and the enhancement of Powerback Respiratory's status as the premier provider of quality respiratory care services.
1. Responsible for the overall management and operations of the Respiratory Care Program (and Blood gas Lab, if applicable) for their assigned account, including 24 hour coverage. Establishes systems and communication networks to assure the delivery of a quality program. Manages staffing, use of equipment, billing, and payroll within budgetary guidelines and business needs. Ensures compliance with all CAP/CLIA and other regulatory agency standards.
2. Responsible for interviewing, hiring, orienting, counseling, and developing respiratory staff for the assigned account. 4. Ensures timely and accurate completion of performance appraisals. Ensures all staff members maintain up-to-date credentials (including CPR certification and state licensure requirements). Provides education related to facility and overall organization protocols. Coordinates, conducts and documents routine meetings with staff.
3. Coordinate schedule to assure appropriate staffing levels for the assigned account as dictated by census, workload and budgeted hours.
4. Delivers treatment and care as necessitated by staffing levels.
5. Responsible for overseeing the monthly revenue and expenses of the assigned account. Assures the timely completion and accuracy of all billing information and reports related to census, productivity and care rendered. Supports A/R collection efforts for the assigned account.
6. Conducts regularly scheduled facility rounds to assure that patients/residents meet criteria for skilled therapy, appropriateness of goals set, the timely and appropriate completion of care plans and re-evaluations and discharge summaries, and the participation in goal settings for residents of the assigned account.
7. Manages the customer relationship and works to proactively build customer satisfaction. Responsible for continuous improvement of the respiratory program. Reports all complaints, findings, assessments and resolutions to the Area Director. Establishes good working relationships with assigned staff at the assigned account. The accounts' staff includes, but is not limited to the Administrators, Directors of Nursing, Admission Coordinators, Case Managers, Bookkeepers, and/or other clinical staff. Submits quarterly respiratory quality assurance report. Will be actively involved in customer census development as per contractual obligations.
8. Assists in the enhancement of Powerback Respiratory's status as a provider of quality services through sales activities. These activities include, but are not limited to facility presentations, trade shows and other industry related events.
9. Assures attendance of regularly scheduled facility meetings such as care plan, utilization, review, rehabilitation and quality assurance.
10. Establishes communication networks with Managed Care Caseworkers to assure approved appropriate care, effective communication and reimbursement of services.
11. In conjunction with the Manager of Clinical Operations and the Clinical Practice Department, coordinates and provides in-service education and training for facility staff as needed or as requested and coordinates and initiates plan of correction as it relates to deficiencies in quality and/or procedures. Assists the Clinical Manager in reviewing facility Policy and Procedure Manuals; when inconsistencies exist, works to facilitate a consistent clinical respiratory care program.
12. Is responsible for QA/QI and ventilator outcome collection.
13. Is responsible for assuring that supplies and equipment are available and maintained for the timely and appropriate delivery of care. Assures accurate accounting and utilization of supplies and equipment.
14. Is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the clinical protocols as established by Powerback Respiratory for all respiratory staff as well as coordinating facility training programs that support these clinical protocols.
15. Will work with the Powerback Respiratory implementation team to ensure coordination of new program start ups and multi-site customers as is necessary to deliver a product consistent with the premier provider of respiratory services.
Qualifications
A Vent Program Manager must have a high level of knowledge of respiratory therapy and practice required through completion of a NBRC approved and accredited program and three years of clinical practice experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility. A minimum of one year of management/supervisory experience is preferred. Must have a current Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification and current State Licensure for a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
Posted Salary Range
USD $38.00 - USD $42.00 /Hr.
