Senior Manager, Financial Reporting Marketing Statement:
The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority is seeking a highly results-driven Senior Manager of Financial Reporting with a strong track record of delivering accurate and timely financial reporting. This individual excels at cross-functional collaboration and is skilled in crafting clear, data-backed narratives to support capital reporting requirements and strategic decision-making. This individual ensures all reporting obligations are met with precision and consistency. Known for an operational rigor, and commitment to accuracy, this individual strengthens financial stewardship across the organization.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education
+ Bachelor¿s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
+ In lieu of a Bachelor¿s degree, a High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma with four (4) years of experience in working with operating budgets in addition to the below experience
Experience
+ A minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible experience in managing, supervising, administering, and evaluating operating budgets.
+ Building executive financial presentations.
Certification/Licensure
+ N/A
Preferred
+ Master¿s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field
+ Working with data visualization tools (i.e., Power BI or Tableau)

SUMMARY
The Senior Manager, Financial Reporting is primarily responsible for managing the financial reporting, executive presentation and reoccurring deliverables of the OMBS Financial Reporting team. The incumbent must be able to work in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word. Must also be able to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple deliverables and coordinating with various departments. The incumbent must have the ability to work independently and manage the team accordingly in an organized and timely fashion. This position reports directly to the Director, Financial Reporting.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
+ Leads the annual budget book process which is reviewed by executives and published on an annual basis.
+ Assists the Director in creating and publishing monthly board presentations and quarterly financial results
+ Coordinates with the various departments to collaborate with executive presentations and address any potential questions and concerns from the executive team.
+ Work independently on ensuring deliverables are completed on a timely basis and ensuring that future deliverables are on track to meeting their deadlines.
+ Performs audit on all financial reporting and documentation that the team publishes to ensure accuracy and quality across all financial data.
+ Manage and train junior staff on building financial reports, improving processes and presentations as well as mentoring them for their career growth.
