    Job Description:

    JOB SUMMARY

    The Genetic Counseling Assistant provides specialized support to a multi-specialty genetics team in areas of medical record review and case preparation, clinical/family history acquisition, referral management, case coordination, and client communication. There is also opportunity to support genetics involvement in multi-disciplinary care, lab stewardship and community events.

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION

    _For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation._

     

    **Minimum Required:** Bachelor’s degree focused on science or psychology, to include successful completion of biology course work. Applicants may be on track to graduate but must meet the minimum requirements before starting the position.

    **Preferred/Optional:** Successful completion of genetics and/or biochemistry coursework at a bachelor’s degree level.

    EXPERIENCE

    **Minimum Required:** Demonstrated proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.

    **Preferred/Optional:** Previous volunteer or work experience in a customer/patient-facing environment.
