SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Responsible for overseeing and managing the preparation of budgets, reports, financial analyses and statements and maintains operational records. Manages departmental operations with authority to make commitments relating to expenditures and revenues. Supervises the administration of grants. Participates in planning and policy development for administrative, financial and operational activities with the Department Chair, Administrator, senior faculty and administrative staff.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Coordinates and/or provides financial services to a clinical department in a seamless manner.
+ Participates with the departmental leadership to plan and evaluate clinical programs.
+ Reviews, interprets and analyzes financial and statistical data to support the departmental information needs to facilitate informative and intelligent financial decisions concerning department activities.
+ Participates in meetings and serves on committees relating to departmental financial performance. Meets on a regular basis with the departmental leadership, section chiefs and clinical managers regarding the financial performance of the department/section.
+ Performs financial evaluations of new or existing programs to include the development of business plans.
+ Interacts with and coordinates departmental financial issues with the Revenue and Reimbursement and Business Services Coordinators.
+ Provides overall direction (to include education for section personnel) and supervision of budget preparation and budget variance analysis. May prepare budgets for some cost centers as necessary.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
+ BA/BS Degree in Accounting, Business Administration with emphasis in Accounting, or Finance required.
+ Five years of related accounting experience required, healthcare accounting experience preferred.
+ Experience in providing financial analysis of healthcare operations.
+ Demonstrates ability to work collaboratively in a team structure.
