Summary You will serve as a SUPERVISORY QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST (SHIPBUILDING) in the SAN DIEGO QUALITY ASSURANCE BRANCH, ENGINEERING & ANALYSIS DIVISION of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD. Responsibilities You will administer the quality assurance/ quality control training program for Detachment personnel, ships force and reservists. You will direct investigations and evaluations of quality problems to determine cause, the scope, and the significance of the problem. You will initiate correspondence such as messages, letters, and memoranda to NAVSEA commands, ships Commanding Officers, COMNAVSUBPAC, other naval activities, and PNS Detachment relating to QA matters. You will assist in SUBSAFE certification and functional audits, both on-site and off-site for NAVSEA. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specilaized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: *Experience implementing programs by planning, assigning, scheduling, supervising, managing, coordinating and expediting work functions to ensure the assignments are completed within established guidelines and directives. *Experience resolving problems that affect the cost, quality, schedule, and performance related to the assigned projects by focusing management on quality related issues. *Experience establishing departmental policy and developing written instructions to direct the efficient implementation of DOD and DON goals and objectives to ensure an effective QA program. *Experience planning, executing, and monitoring a QA Program in accordance with applicable quality assurance criteria. *Experience determining program goals and developing plans for the organization on matters pertaining to quality assurance related functions for ship maintenance and repair.
