Visual Merchandising Associate (Part Time)

The pay rate for this position is $17.00 per hour.

Overview:

As a Visual Merchandising Associate, you’ll play an essential role in executing in-store visual initiatives, ensuring that every presentation reflects Wayfair’s seasonal strategies and brand standards. You’ll focus on maintaining floor sets, signage, and overall store presentation while supporting daily operations that bring the Wayfair brand to life. This role requires attention to detail, adaptability, and a passion for creating an inspiring shopping experience. Reporting to the Visual Merchandising Manager, you’ll contribute to the foundation of visual merchandising for Wayfair’s growing retail presence.

What Does a Visual Merchandising Associate Do?

+ Execute Visual Standards: Support floorset execution, product replenishment, signage placement, and visual maintenance, including folding and steaming textiles, bed-making, and basic cleanliness tasks.

+ Ensure Presentation Excellence: Maintain and update store displays to align with visual directives, making adjustments as needed to uphold brand standards.

+ Support Merchandise Flow: Assist in replenishing products to maintain inventory levels and ensure a seamless shopping experience.

+ Utilize Technology: Operate company-provided tools to execute visual merchandising tasks and store operations effectively.

+ Engage Customers: Provide a welcoming and friendly experience, offering helpful information and guidance while supporting sales engagement and transactions.

+ Adapt and Collaborate: Work closely with store leaders and teammates across all departments to meet evolving business needs while maintaining a visually compelling store environment.

+ Receive and Apply Feedback: Embrace coaching and direction from store leaders to ensure all visual merchandising aligns with Wayfair’s brand vision.

+ Thrive in a Fast-Paced Environment: Execute tasks efficiently in a dynamic setting with frequent product, promotion, and operational updates.

What are the Job Requirements?

+ Retail Visual Experience: 1–3 years of experience in a retail setting with a focus on maintaining presentations and resetting departments (required).

+ Customer-Facing Experience: 1–3 years of experience providing customer service in a retail setting (preferred).

+ Technical Skills: Comfortable using visual merchandising tools and store technology, with a willingness to learn new systems.

+ Flexibility: Ability to work a varied schedule, including nights, weekends, and some holidays, based on business needs.

+ Attention to Detail: Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to execute visual merchandising tasks with accuracy and efficiency.

+ Adaptability & Professionalism: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a professional and customer-focused approach.

+ Physical Demands

+ Frequent movement including standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching

+ Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs

+ Frequent repetitive motions and coordination

+ Constant handling, grasping, and communication (talking/hearing)

+ Ability to ascend/descend stairs and balance

+ Working Environment

+ Some exposure to cold, heat, and humidity

+ Occasional noise and vibrations

+ Minimal hazards and seasonal temperature changes
