A Brief Overview
This position is responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing strategic initiatives that drive the growth and expansion of pharmacy operations. This role collaborates cross-functionally to assess market opportunities, streamline operational workflows, and support scalable, patient-centered pharmacy services.

What you will do
+ 1. Leadership and Strategic Oversight• Provides leadership for assigned functional and cross-functional growth and improvement efforts.• Develops strategic input for the Director regarding business objectives for both current and future projects.• Partners with Operations Manager(s) to identify and develop the leadership needs and internal capacity of the department and facilitates strategic changes in project scope or assignment across the team.• Coaches and mentors department staff through change processes and cycles of continuous improvement.• Provides oversight to pharmacy personnel with respect to the goals and objectives of the Pharmacy Department in collaboration with the leadership team to improve services provided and assures compliance with regulatory requirements.

Project Management and Execution• Defines project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with the management and other stakeholders.• Manages, assesses, and documents project efforts and scope.• Use Project Management skills to ensure accurate and timely execution of stated program goals.• Prepares and maintains accurate, coherent, timely, and auditable project records and cost estimates, as applicable.• Manages project design and structure to align with organizations’ key initiatives and projects within the assigned group.
+ 3. Collaboration and Stakeholder Management• Works with various departments and clinics; develops relationships with key stakeholders.• Partners across the organization to develop and implement solutions designed to improve member/client satisfaction; streamline processes between organizations for improved service delivery.• Collaborates with physicians and other health care professionals to address issues related to patient drug therapy through the process of mutual information sharing, discussion, and decision making.
+ 4. Pharmacy Operations and Compliance• Interprets and enforces established policies and procedures, creates new policies and procedures, designs and implements performance improvement initiatives that enhance safety, environmental, and infection control.• Design, implement, and monitor pharmacy practices to optimize medication management outcomes for patients.• Reviews department performance, effects changes in collaboration with the pharmacy leadership team to improve services provided and assures compliance with regulatory requirements.• Supervises and manages the technical support staff and staff clinical pharmacists.• Participates in Informatics meeting discussions and practice implementation relative to workflow processes to include validation of protocols and ERX records where applicable.• Oversees training programs for pharmacy staff, residents, and students.
Education Qualifications
+ Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience Qualifications
+ Five (5) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
+ Knowledge of California State Board of Pharmacy Laws and Regulations.
+ Knowledge of Title 22 regulations.
+ Knowledge of eMS regulations, both state and federal.
+ Demonstrated ability to act as a thought leader and operational expert for assigned areas.
+ Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and Skill in the use of establishing policies and in writing procedures and communication to coworkers.
+ Ability to interpret new laws, guidelines as applied to the practice of Pharmacy.
+ Ability to interpret regulations and guidelines as applicable to the practice of Pharmacy.
+ Ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels and in situations requiring instructing, persuading, negotiating, conflict resolution, consulting and advising.
+ Demonstrated experience developing effective written communications, reports and summaries.
+ Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with widely diverse groups, including individuals at all levels both within and outside the organization and gain their cooperation.
+ Ability to plan, organize, motivate, mentor, direct and evaluate the work of others.
+ Ability to influence others.
+ Ability to resolve conflicts and/or negotiate with others to achieve positive results; establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
+ Knowledge of Lean, JIT, Six Sigma and/or Agile/Scrum techniques.
+ Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Access, Project and Outlook.
+ Knowledge of principles of business and management strategic planning, leadership development, and education techniques.
Licenses and Certifications
+ CA Board of Pharmacy License - Registered Pharmacist within 120 Days
+ PMP - Project Mgmt Professional preferred

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $86.41 - $114.50 per hour
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
