Join Our Team as an Interventional Technologist at UPMC Williamsport!

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled **Interventional Technologist** to join our **Invasive Radiology department** at UPMC Williamsport. This is a **full-time position** with hours from **Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.** , plus rotating on-call duties during weekends and holidays.

Key Responsibilities:

+ **Perform Imaging Procedures** : Execute a variety of technical procedures independently, applying prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.

+ **Administer Contrast** : Follow assigned protocols under the direction of the proceduralist.

+ **Patient Positioning & Techniques** : Demonstrate proper positioning and radiographic techniques for all interventional procedures.

+ **Patient Identification & Protocols** : Use two patient identifiers and universal protocol, review patient history, and apply specific departmental protocols for optimal data acquisition.

+ **Aseptic Technique & Safety** : Foster an environment that supports aseptic technique and patient safety, incorporating a time-out process.

+ **Clear Communication** : Explain procedures to patients clearly and concisely, helping to alleviate their fears and ensure cooperation.

+ **Coding & Tracking** : Ensure all exams are properly coded, tracked through the RIS system, networked to ISITE for archiving and interpretation, and charges are entered accurately.

+ **Team Interaction** : Interact with patients and co-workers with a high level of caring, listening, dignity, and respect. Work as a team member within the department and across other departments to expedite patient care efficiently.

+ **Support Other Departments** : Perform general radiographic procedures as needed.

Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or an accredited program in invasive cardiovascular technology.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.

+ ARRT Certificate OR Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist OR Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist

+ Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
