Custom Job Purpose:
This position leads the planning, coordination and execution of the District's wellness initiatives, supporting the Director of Benefits and administration in delivering strategic communications and benefits programs that enhance employee and retiree well-being.
Essential Functions of this Job
Collaborate with District partners to develop and manage wellness programs aligned with the School Board's health plan objectives to reduce healthcare costs and improve employee health outcomes. Create and execute multi-channel communication strategies (e.g., newsletters, social media, intranet) to promote wellness and benefit programs. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including leadership, to ensure wellness initiatives align with broader organizational goals. Deliver accurate and up-to-date Information to support informed decision-making. Participate with the Florida School District Employee Wellness Coalition and other benchmarking agencies to share best practices and evaluate program effectiveness. Organize logistics and promotion of wellness activities, including health screenings, educational webinars and benefit workshops. Collect and analyze employee feedback to refine wellness and benefits communication and program delivery.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to prioritize among multiple tasks, be detail oriented and able to work independently and productively. Ability to create and manage digital and print communication materials. Ability to simplify complex benefits information into clear, engaging messages. Bilingual/biliterate preferred.
Education, Experience and/or Certification/License Requirements
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, or Human Resources, course of study. Experience in employee benefits administration, HR communications, or employee engagement within an educational environment. A combination of education, related experience specific to benefit programs, and/or professional credentials in human resources or employee benefits (PHR, CEBS, SHRMCP) is preferred. Three or more years' experience with a large employer in a human resource role is preferred.
Work Context:
Requires some sitting and standing, walking and moving about to coordinate work. Requires the use of alternative communication systems, such as electronic mail, telephones and computers. Requires coordination of work tasks to establish priorities, set goals and meet deadlines. Requires face-to-face discussions and contact with individuals and/or teams. Requires work with internal and external contacts, and with the public.
Physical Environment:
Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. Requires sitting for most of the day and the ability to lift, carry, move and/or position objects infrequently weighing up to 20 pounds. Requires travel to other work sites within the County to coordinate wellness events.
