Job Description
Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated Rehab Therapy Aide to join our long-term care facility. The Rehab Therapy Aide will support licensed therapists in delivering rehabilitative services to residents, assisting with therapeutic exercises, activities, and administrative tasks to enhance resident recovery and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Assist physical, occupational, and speech therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans for residents.
+ Support residents during therapy sessions, including helping with exercises, mobility, and equipment setup.
+ Prepare and maintain therapy areas, ensuring equipment is clean, organized, and ready for use.
+ Monitor and document resident progress and responses during therapy sessions, reporting observations to therapists.
+ Provide encouragement and emotional support to residents to promote engagement in therapy programs.
+ Assist with scheduling therapy sessions and maintaining accurate records.
+ Ensure compliance with safety protocols, infection control standards, and facility policies.
+ Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support holistic resident care.
Qualifications:
+ High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a certified nursing assistant (CNA) program or rehab aide training preferred.
+ Prior experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting is a plus but not required.
+ Basic knowledge of rehabilitation therapy techniques and equipment is desirable.
+ Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate, patient-centered approach.
+ Ability to follow instructions, work as part of a team, and maintain confidentiality.
+ Physical stamina to assist with resident mobility and lift/move equipment as needed.
+ Valid CPR certification is preferred.
