About the Job

As a Staff Engineer (0-4 years of experience), you will be working and collaborating with other RH2 team members in the planning, designing and construction of water and wastewater facility projects.

With your skills you will:

+ Learning to use professional concepts

+ Collects data and gathers information or documents

+ Performs basic computations or analyses

+ Observes project activities

+ Prepares base maps from survey drawings

+ Performs basic field observations with supervision from Project Engineer/Project Manager

+ Updates engineering reports, drawings, figures, and other visual aids based on reviews provided by Project Engineer/Project Manager

+ Gains on-the-job training and experience with engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil3D, GIS, MathCAD, Finite Element Analysis, hydraulic modeling programs, Rocscience, and/or Civiltech AllPile and Shoring Suite

+ Applies company policies and procedures

+ Works collaboratively both in-person and remotely with teams in multiple offices

What you'll bring:

+ Bachelor of Science or higher degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university

+ Internship experience in industry environment is highly preferred

+ Strong desire to work in public sector consulting with focus on water, wastewater, transportation, irrigation, and stormwater planning and design projects

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills

+ Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills

+ Ability to respond and adapt to changing project needs and schedules

+ Ability to work on multiple projects and with multiple Project Managers at the same time

Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations:

+ Ability to obtain Engineer-In-Training certification within 1 year required; completed Engineer‑In‑Training certification highly preferred

+ Ability to obtain P.E. license with 4 to 5 years of experience

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of:

+ Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word preferred at an intermediate skill level

+ AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS, MathCAD, Finite Element Analysis, hydraulic modeling, Rocscience, and/or Civiltech AllPile and Shoring Suite software experience is a plus but not required

+ PDF editing software experience is a plus but not required

Compensation counts:

Individual compensation will vary within the following range of $34.80-$46.00/hour and be based on a candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience as they relate to the requirements for this position. RH2 values our employees' work/life balance and compensates overtime for hours exceeding 40 regular hours in a work week.
