    Job Description Summary

    The Analytics Staff Engineer will provide operational management and technical development / coordination of the existing Fleet Support analytics portfolio for remote diagnostics. In this role, you will lead the development, testing, and implementation of new algorithms and data science concepts for the next generation of remote diagnostics. In order to do so, you will plan, prioritize and manage project activities and initiatives.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    Additionally, as the Analytics Staff Engineer, key responsibilities will include:

    + Integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional areas of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy

    + Be responsible for work that is less defined in scope, utilize understanding and experience to execute business objectives, and can affect short-term and some long-term business goals

    + Be the point of contact for Fleet Support analytics strategy and development, with responsibility for cross functional project coordination across the business

    + Improve coordination between broad analytics / data science community and Fleet Support team, and drive implementation of standard processes with proper documentation

    + Develop project scope and determine resources required for successful project execution

    + Provide process and technical guidance to product line teams on new analytic opportunities and revisions to existing analytics

    + Develop and capture technical problem-solving knowledge

    + Work with analytic implementation teams and diagnostics team to operationalize analytics and train users

    + Coordinate activities, projects, and processes with Fleet Support Shanghai analytics team

    + Support communication with customer on analytics solution of field issues, so that all members of the customer support team share common understanding and objectives

    + Lead the design and validation of detection analytics for diagnostics that meet business goals

    + Identify product failure trends and assist in identifying probable root causes

    + Optimize current engine diagnostic capabilities to improve analytic accuracy and enhance customer satisfaction

    + Identify potential problems and coordinate troubleshooting activities

    + Train and mentor fleet managers on the development, testing, and implementation of new algorithms, improving and maintaining existing analytics, and retiring obsolete or inefficient alerts

    Required Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university

    + Minimum of 5 years of experience in Engineering

    + Minimum of 3 years of experience in a multi-discipline project engineering coordination role

    Desired Characteristics

    + Performance Engineering or Engine Diagnostics experience

    + Understanding of airline operations

    + Interpret aircraft and engine manuals and service bulletins

    + Working knowledge of programs/coding languages such as MATLAB, Python, R, JMP, SAS, SQL

    + Experience with Data Science techniques

    + Strong ability to analyze technical data

    + Strong project management skills including; cross-functional coordination of activities

    + Ability to effectively manage multiple project responsibilities from conceptual design through final implementation

    + Process focused with the ability to assess and improve processes and work methods

    + Ability to make quick decisions to adapt to any situation

    + Quality awareness and ability to identify future failures, defects, and problems

    + Strong oral and written communication skills

    + Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

    + Strong organization and planning skills

    + Ability to meet schedule commitments

    + Ability to work well under pressure, in a fast-paced environment
