Job Summary
Student Media at the University of Utah seeks a student to become the Audio Manager. This position will oversee two recording studio spaces, ensuring that they are being utilized according to departmental and University policy, are well maintained, and inventory is kept properly.
Responsibilities
+ Keep a current inventory of all studio equipment up to date.
+ Manage studio equipment and software to ensure students can create and record content.
+ Manage and oversee reservations and scheduling of studio
+ Provide training to those using studio equipment and ensure it is used properly.
+ Update and maintain online training courses via Canvas.
+ Seek ways to improve recording experiences through modification and upkeep of studio equipment.
+ Work with leadership to make recommendations regarding repairing, replacing, or growing studio equipment
+ Be available as extra support for Student Media and Auxiliary Business Development events as they arise.
Minimum Qualifications
+ Must be a current University of Utah student.
+ Qualified applicants will know how to use the audio equipment, train others, make recommendations for repair and/or replacement, etc.
+ A qualified student will be physically able to lift and move heavy equipment and have strong communication skills
Preferences
+ Prior experience with broadcasting equipment preferred
+ Applicants with some experience working with standard media equipment – cameras, recorders, microphones, etc. preferred
+ Prior tech support experience preferrd
+ Ability to work with computers (troubleshooting, software installation, etc) preferred
