About the Role: We are looking for a highly analytical, tech-savvy Senior Strategic Finance Analyst to join our team and help drive data-driven decision-making to optimize the company's business operations and performance metrics. This role is critical in driving actionable insights and supporting data-driven decisions to improve business performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background with experience in SaaS and payment processing industries (Fintech). This position will play a key role in helping shape and monitor performance across various business metrics, enhancing our ability to proactively respond to trends, and optimizing our forecasting and strategic planning.
The Senior Strategic Finance Analyst will be an essential part of our finance team, tasked with analyzing and interpreting complex business data. This role requires a high level of technical proficiency, particularly in Excel, financial modeling, and data analytics. You will work closely with the CFO to provide detailed insights into business performance, identify trends, and help inform strategic decisions across the organization. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in business performance analysis, with a keen ability to dig deep into the numbers, build financial models, and uncover actionable insights.
*This position requires full-time onsite presence in Pleasanton, CA.*
Compensation:
+ Base Salary: $140,000 - $160,000
+ Annual Bonus: Up to 10%
How you will contribute:
+ Business Performance Analysis: Analyze key performance metrics and trends across all business lines (SaaS product performance, payment processing, sales, etc.), identifying drivers of growth and areas for improvement.
+ Advanced Excel & Financial Modeling: Build complex financial models, forecasts, and budgets to assist in decision-making. Use advanced Excel skills to manipulate, clean, and analyze large datasets, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
+ Reporting & Dashboards: Create and maintain reports and dashboards (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to monitor KPIs for SaaS and payment processing, providing actionable insights to the CFO and other stakeholders.
+ Trend Identification and Analysis: Continuously track and analyze business trends, providing data-driven recommendations. Help identify emerging issues and opportunities, and proactively propose strategies to improve business outcomes.
+ Weekly & Monthly Performance Monitoring: Prepare and present in-depth weekly and monthly reports on business performance, identifying key metrics, variances, and trends. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand underlying causes and provide insights for improvement.
+ Financial & Business Strategy Support: Work closely with the CFO to prepare board deck and provide in-depth analysis to support business performance and strategy decisions, ensuring accuracy and clarity in reporting.
+ Attention to Detail & Data Integrity: Ensure data accuracy and consistency in all reporting and analysis. Maintain a high level of attention to detail in analyzing complex financial data and presenting clear, error-free insights.
+ Process Improvement & Efficiency: Continuously improve data collection, analysis, and reporting processes. Automate repetitive tasks and improve the efficiency of reporting processes through the use of advanced tools and techniques.
Who we are searching for:
+ Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field. Advanced degree (MBA or similar) is a plus.
+ 5+ years of experience in business performance analysis, financial modeling, or data analytics, with significant experience in SaaS or payment processing industries preferred.
+ Advanced proficiency in Excel for financial modeling, data manipulation, and analysis.
+ Proficiency in SQL skills for querying and analyzing large datasets.
+ Experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools to build reports and dashboards.
+ Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably NetSuite.
+ Strong ability to analyze large datasets, identify trends, and provide actionable business insights.
+ Ability to develop complex financial models and forecasts with accuracy and attention to detail.
+ Deep understanding of SaaS business models, payment processing, and key industry metrics (MRR, ARR, churn, customer lifetime value, etc.).
+ Strong knowledge of financial statements and performance metrics.
+ Ability to identify issues within data and business processes and propose actionable solutions.
+ Strong problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills to clearly explain complex data and insights to senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
+ A meticulous approach to data analysis, ensuring high levels of accuracy in all reports and financial models.
+ Experience with financial analysis and reporting tools such as Powerbi,Tableau, Looker, or other BI platforms.
+ Strong understanding of financial and operational KPIs, particularly for SaaS and payment processing businesses.
+ Proven track record of working in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.
